Having already performed 175 shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City since 1989, the Allman Brothers Band has booked an initial 10 concerts this spring (March 9-10, 12-14, 16-17 and 19-21) at the newly renovated venue. If history projects the future, the Allmans, who are celebrating their 40th anniversary, will probably play about 15 shows when the run is over. Ticket information will be announced in mid-January.

The Allman Brothers' 175 shows at the Beacon is the most acclaimed and longest-running residency in rock and roll for an act at a major venue. However, the band will definitely not hit the magical 200 concerts at the Beacon this year. "It will takes us two years," band manager Bert Holman told TicketNews.

Last year, Allman Brothers Band canceled their appearances at the Beacon due to keyboardist/vocalist Gregg Allman's treatment for Hepatitis C.

In addition to Allman, the band includes Butch Trucks (drums and tympani), Jaimoe (drums), Warren Hayes (vocals, lead and slide guitar), Derek Trucks (slide and lead guitar), Oteil Burbridge (bass), and Marc Quinones (congas and percussion). Special guests are expected to join the Allmans on stage.

Haynes, also the founder of Gov’t Mule, will have a busy spring as he also joins The Dead for 19 arena concerts April 12 through May 10.
