Better Ticketing Association redesigns and relaunches Web site

The Better Ticketing Association (BTA), a ticket broker membership organization, recently redesigned its Web site and launched some new initiatives to better serve its members.

Dan Pullium, Director of Government Relations for TicketNetwork, who also oversees the BTA, said changes to the site were implemented following discussions with members. The BTA was created by TicketNetwork, which is also the parent company of TicketNews.

"The BTA has been listening to its members' requests for additional services and industry-related services," Pullium said. "Whether it is staying in touch with new regulatory requirements or preparing for upcoming legislative activities, we are offering our members more services than ever before. In addition, we are expanding the types of product discounts and additional services that will help our brokers expand and maintain their businesses."

Entering its third year, the BTA focuses on ways to help ticket brokers and other ticket industry executives improve their businesses by providing turnkey solutions of discounted products and services. Among the benefits the group offers its members are discounts on credit card processing, internet security, logo-imprinted merchandise, and data services.

Among the new initiatives the BTA has launched is L.E.A.P., which stands for Legislative Education and Advocacy Program, under which the BTA will match a broker's contribution to ticketing lobbying efforts in their state up to $1,000. Also, the BTA has begun to send out email alerts under a "Capitol Insight" program about specific legislative issues that could affect brokers at the state and local level.

The new site also has not only taken on a more elegant and streamlined appearance, it is also easier to navigate with drop down menu selections for the various topics. See screenshot below. TicketNetwork Graphics Designer Joseph Keiser, who worked on the new look of the site, said the goal was present the BTA in a more professional light, in keeping with the organization's mission.

"The idea was to clean up the look a little bit while keep the general visual identity similar to the previous site," Keiser said.

The BTA will have a booth at Ticket Summit NYC, TicketNetwork's industry conference and trade show, which is scheduled for January 6-8 at the Waldorf=Astoria in Manhattan. Joining the group at the booth will be representatives from Verizon Wireless, a new partner with the BTA that is offering members discounts on wireless services.
