Bob Dylan has booked an 18-city summer tour of amphitheaters, casinos, theaters and festivals beginning August 9 in Pittsburgh, PA and winding down September 7 in Santa Barbara, CA.

His US tour follows a 30-city tour of Europe that began on May 24 in Reykjavic, Iceland and finishes up July 11 in Lisbon, POR. Prior to his Euro jaunt, Dylan performed two US shows in May that were followed by a short, five city Canadian leg May 19-24.

On April 7, the singer/songwriter/musician/author/poet made history as the first rock and roll artist to be honored with a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation for "profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power."

While on his European tour, Dylan recently announced his support for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, saying that Obama "redefines the nature of politics from the ground up."
