Britney Spears tour unveils first dates for worldwide 'Circus'
Pop princess Britney Spears has confirmed the first few dates for her much anticipated 2009 world tour. Staging a comeback from her widely publicized personal breakdowns of the past year, the performer has confirmed concerts on June 3 and 4 at the O2 Arena in London, England.
The gigs will mark Spears' first European performances in five years. European fans might have to make travel plans, though, if they hope to see the singer in concert. According to published reports, a representative for Spears stated the O2 Arena dates are the only scheduled European stops on the upcoming tour.
Tickets for the London shows go on sale December 5. However, fans can now register at the singer's official Web site in order to access a special presale the day before box offices open to the public.
Spears first announced plans for her world tour during a late September radio interview, while promoting her first new single, "Womanizer." The forthcoming album, "Circus," is due to hit store shelves on the star's birthday, December 2, with the title track and second single slated for a December 5 radio debut. The album is also currently available for pre-order on iTunes.
In October, it was announced that concert and tour promoter AEG Live signed a deal with Spears to produce her worldwide venture. Her last tour promoted 2004's "In the Zone" and grossed more than $34 million.
