Dave Brubeck tour cancels several concerts due to illness
A viral infection has sidelined legendary jazz pianist Dave Brubeck causing him to cancel several concert appearances. He is under a doctor's orders to not travel until the end of May. Brubeck, who is 88 years old, is expected to resume his full touring schedule following his recovery.
Among the dates affected was his appearance at the 30th annual Tri-C JazzFest in Cleveland, OH, which was scheduled for May 1, at the Allen Theatre in Playhouse Square. The concert has been rescheduled for June 6.
According to Brubeck's Web site, his first anticipated performance is to be on May 22 in Jacksonville, FL, with the St. Johns River City Band in connection with the Jacksonville Jazz Festival. The Erie, PA, concert originally scheduled for May 3 is now scheduled for May 31. His May 1 concert at the 30th annual Tri-C JazzFest in Cleveland, OH, is now scheduled for June 6.
Brubeck was also forced to cancel four concerts in April that have not been rescheduled yet. Refunds are available at the point of purchase for any of the above concert cancellations.
