Eddie Vedder launches first solo tour
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will mount his first solo outing, dubbed the April Fools Tour, on April 2 in Vancouver, BC. The short, six-city West Coast tour is in support of his new soundtrack album for the film “Into the Wild,” and will wind down April 15 in San Diego, CA.
Vedder received acclaim for his soundtrack work for director Sean Penn's adaptation of the best-selling nonfiction book about a college graduate's ill-fated expedition to Alaska. Vedder won a Golden Globe for the track "Guaranteed," which also received a Grammy Award nomination.
Following his brief trek, Vedder will re-group with Pearl Jam when they headline the Bonnaroo Music + Arts Festival, on June 12-15 in Manchester, TN.
Tickets for Vedder’s solo tour go on sale Feb. 22, except for the Santa Barbara, CA show for which tickets will go on sale Feb. 29. A special pre-sale for members of Pearl Jam’s Ten Club began earlier this week, and only Visa or Mastercard will be accepted. Due to the limited amount of fan club tickets, only U.S. and Canadian members are eligible. No single tickets are being sold, and there is a two-ticket limit per member, per show. Tickets are $65 apiece, plus fees. New Zealand singer/songwriter Liam Finn is opening all dates.
