Elton John & Billy Joel tour postpones two concerts due to illness
Elton John & Billy Joel's top-grossing Face 2 Face Tour has been forced to postpone two concerts in upstate New York since Joel fell ill over the weekend.
The tour's July 24 concert at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY, was the first cancellation. An afternoon announcement from promoter Live Nation said that Joel was advised by his doctors not to perform after he came down with flu-like symptoms.
Tonight's concert, July 27, at Albany's Times Union Center in Albany has also been postponed after doctors advised Joel not to perform for 72 hours due to his "extreme fatigue."
Both shows are expected to be rescheduled. Ticketholders may be able to get refunds at the point of purchase, where applicable.
Barring any further health issues, the tour's next stop is for a two-night performance in Philadelphia, PA, at Citizens Bank Park on July 30 and August 1.
After those final summer shows, the pair does not have another concert scheduled until November, when their tour will hit several markets along the West Coast. The late fall itinerary begins with shows on November 4 and 7 at Key Arena in Seattle, WA.
