One of the best parts of October baseball is watching the boys of summer battle it out in the cold weather of fall. But never before has rain suspended a game in the World Series, that was until last nights Game 5 between the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies. Tied 2-2 in the top of the sixth inning the rain and cold became too much, as the infield became a giant puddle, and the umpires choose to bring on the tarps and stop the game.

With the final three innings of the game scheduled to be played tonight at 8 p.m., the ticket stubs used on Monday night will be honored for re-entry at Citizen Bank Park. The decision has created a unique situation for the ticket resale business, as fans have begun to sell their ticket stubs online.

While no ticket stubs can be found on TicketNetwork, StubHub or RazorGator, stubs can be found on eBay for Game 5 and are listed for as much as $4,000 for two.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a Phillies fan sold one of his ticket stubs for $600 on eBay.

You can count on finding plenty of ticket stubs being available from scalpers outside of the stadium prior to the game, but buyer beware; counterfeit tickets have already been sold this World Series. The St. Petersburg Times reported that prior to Game 1 at Tropicana Field, fans were being sold fake tickets and have so far handled four complaints from fans who were sold counterfeit tickets.

While scalping is legal in Florida and Pennsylvania, Major League Baseball prohibits the resale of tickets on the stadium property, and police in St. Petersburg last week issued citations to eight scalpers who allegedly tried to resell tickets at the facility, instead of in designated areas away from Tropicana Field.
