Frank Loesser benefit concert to be held in New York City
Frank Loesser, who has written the music and lyrics for various Broadway musicals, including "Guys & Dolls" and "How To Succeed in Business Without Trying," will be honored with a benefit concert for The Actors Fund at the Minskoff Theatre in New York, NY, on October 26.
Billed as "Chance and Chemistry: A Centennial Celebration of Frank Loesser," the event will feature performances by Hugh Jackman, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Chita Rivera, John Stamos, Lillas White, Liz Callaway and Debbie Gravite, with more singers to be named.
Tickets are available through The Actors Fund by calling (212) 221-7300 x 133 or e-mailing tickets@actorsfund.org.
The event will be co-chaired by Jo Sullivan Loesser and Paul McCartney, who is not billed to perform but might be present, so anything is possible. The night will be hosted by Annette Bening, Kevin McCollum and Jonathan Tisch.
The benefit's director and choreographer, Christopher Gattelli has an impressive background with "South Pacific," "Sunday in the Park with George" and "Altar Boyz."
In the past, The Actors Fund has staged benefits with the "20th Anniversary of Dreamgirls." "Funny Girl," "Chess," "Hair," "On the Twentieth Century" and "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" in New York.
