Live Nation partners with Croatian promoter
Live Nation this week announced it signed a partnership deal with Croatian concert promoter Adria Entertainment to bring more shows to the country.
The move is the latest example of Live Nation's concerted effort to expand into more international locations to further boost ticket sales and overall revenues.
"Croatia is becoming an increasingly popular touring location for artists, and we are happy to join forces with an established partner in a growing music market," Live Nation president and CEO Michael Rapino said in a January 11 statement.
Beyoncé, Depeche Mode and Bon Jovi are among the artists who have played shows in Croatia in the past two years.
Adria Entertainment has promoted more than 100 concerts in the Balkan region over the past five years, selling hundreds of thousands of tickets in the process, according to the statement.
Adria's CEO Vladimir Ivanković called the partnership unprecedented and one that could help the country's live entertainment economy.
"It unites the expertise and influence of the world's biggest live entertainment company with our local knowledge and expertise, which we believe will result in new innovation and opportunities for live entertainment in the Adriatic region," Ivanković said in a statement.
Last month, Live Nation announced it was expanding into South Korea, and earlier in 2011, the company bought Spanish ticketer ServiCaixa.
"Moving forward, we will continue to identify strategic partnerships that will allow us to better serve artists and fans, bringing the best in live entertainment to new markets around the world," Rapino said.
