New England Patriots asked TicketsNow to take down tickets
The New England Patriots, in an attempt to help preserve its control over the resale of its tickets, requested that TicketsNow remove the tickets from the company's exchange, the team told TicketNews.
The admission that the team was behind the move comes as little surprise because the Patriots have taken a hard line over the resale of it tickets, including suing StubHub for listing tickets on its exchange. But, the move shows just how much influence the team has in forcing a ticket exchange to bend to its will, especially considering the popularity of the team among brokers and fans and the lucrative nature of its tickets on the secondary market.
Team spokesperson Stacey James confirmed to TicketNews that it asked TicketsNow to take down the tickets.
"We are pleased that TicketsNow responsibly responded to a request to direct visitors seeking Patriots game tickets to club-authorized sites like Ticketmaster and Team Exchange," he said.
TicketsNow emailed its broker clients about the removal last week, but did not give a reason why. The company is owned by Ticketmaster, which is the official ticket company for the Patriots.

Need to learn what free markets are. What's interesting is that Patriots tickets have, not surprisingly, plummeted since Brady went out.
I would love to see the Patroits lose every game this year. My wish would be that the Patroits Franchise will go into a depth 10 or 20 year losing era. I bet they would starting begging brokers to buy there season tickets.
If every team asks them to do this we are in trouble
The world is coming to an end
Thankfully we have entities like Stubhub that will carry our water in this fight. They have shown backbone and a willingness to fight for a free market.
Is it really newsworthy though? TM asks an subsidiary to comply with a request from a customer (and a big one at that) The bottom line is the Patriots share in the TM Team Exchange revenues and NOT in the TIcketsNow market.
