Oasis concerts cancelled as Noel Gallagher quits group
Noel Gallagher, Oasis' songwriter and lead guitarist, has quit the group he co-founded with his brother, lead singer Liam, 18 years ago. The announcement came on August 28 minutes before the group was to take the stage at Rock en Seine in Paris, FRA.
"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight," Noel posted on the band's Web site. "People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer. Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."
The band previously cancelled its August 23 headlining slot at the annual V Festival at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, ENG, after front man Liam Gallagher came down with viral laryngitis.
Their August 29 concert at Rock Am See Festival in Konstanz, GER, and their last show on August 30 at the I-Day Milano Urban Festival in Milan, ITA, were also cancelled. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.
Throughout the years the Gallagher brothers have very publicly aired their feuding, which has included numerous fall outs and reconciliations.

Publicity stunt, they will get back together in the next year or so, Oasis' popularity is fading in the States and probably around the world
