Paul McCartney tour adds two 'Up and Coming' concerts for West Coast
He launched the Up and Coming Tour with a spring of U.S. concerts in early spring. Now Paul McCartney has plans to return to the United States for at least two more West Coast dates this summer.
The former Beatles bassist and Wings frontman is scheduled to play July 10 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, CA, and July 13 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT.
Public onsales begin May 24 in both concert markets, and face values will run from $49.50 to $250 with several intermediary price levels. But various ticket presales for the Up and Coming events will open before the weekend, on May 20. Presale and onsale details are available on McCartney's official Web site.
McCartney's goal during the Up and Coming Tour is to visit "new cities he’s never played and familiar markets he’s not visited for a while," according to a press statement. The iconic performer's newly scheduled concerts certainly apply to those categories.
The legendary musician's show at AT&T Park will mark his first performance in San Francisco since The Beatles played Candlestick Park in 1966. Meanwhile, Macca's performance at Rio Tinto will stand as his first ever show in the state of Utah.
The Up and Coming Tour launched with a batch of late March and early April concerts in the states. His itinerary will take him next to Mexico City for a pair of May 27-28 shows at Foro Sol before launching into a brief June trek in his native UK.
The tour as a whole is a follow-up to McCartney's successful Summer Live '09 Tour, which featured a three-night run at Citi Field in New York, NY, and a two-nighter at Fenway Park in Boston, MA, among other dates.
