For jam band Phish, 2011 will end much like it began — with a massive, multi-night concert series at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Phish will ring in 2012 by commandeering Gotham's famous arena for four consecutive nights. The so-called "New Year's Run" begins December 28 and culminates with a December 31 blow-out celebration.

Following the band's standard practice, Phish will distribute a limited allotment of tickets via randomized lottery through a self-branded online ticketing portal. Fans can request up to four tickets per show during the lottery request period, which closes at 11:59 a.m. (EDT) on October 24.

After lottery ticket allotments have been divvied up and doled out, remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on October 29. Ticket prices are $60 for the series' first three nights and $70 for the final New Year's Eve blow-out concert, according to Phish's official Web site.

Both the ticketing method and the pricing structure mirror those that were in place for Phish's 2010–2011 New Year celebration. That venture started with two shows in Massachusetts before the band began a December 30-through-January 1 stand (also at Madison Square Garden).

According to a statement on the band's official Facebook page, Phish has played 19 concerts to date at Madison Square Garden. The upcoming 2011–2012 New Year's Run will bring that tally to 23 shows total.
