Rush on Minnesota Vikings, Twins and Gophers tickets before big weekend
Sports fans throughout Minnesota and neighboring Wisconsin are hustling to snap up tickets to several games scheduled for this weekend, starting October 2, in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
The Minnesota Twins could capture the American League Central Division title at home over the weekend during games against the Kansas City Royals, and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team hosts arch rival, the University of Wisconsin Badgers.
In addition, Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings will face off at home against Favre's old team, the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.
According to a report on WCCO-TV, tickets for the various games are moving quickly on the secondary ticket market, with prices topping more than $650 for the Packers/Vikings game. Click here to view the video, or click on the image below.
Mike Nowakowski of Minneapolis ticket broker Ticket King said the last time he remembers Minnesota fans this excited about buying tickets was when the Vikings were 15-1 in 1998.
"I think that was the last time I remember it being as big a deal, and people as fired up, about the sport teams here," he said.
