TicketNetwork CEO and founder Don Vaccaro wins Ernst & Young award
Don Vaccaro, the CEO and founder of TicketNetwork, was honored with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in the E Services category for the Metro New York region, during a ceremony in Manhattan Thursday evening.
Vacarro was among a group of leading entrepreneurs to receive awards during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. All were chosen by an independent judging panel, and other winners included Joe Apprendi of Collective Media under the Media category; Glenn Goldman of Capital Access Network, Inc. under the Financial Services category; and Kevin P. Ryan of AlleyCorp LLC under the Technology category.
"We congratulate these entrepreneurs on their significant achievements," Jodi Burns, Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year Program Director for Metro New York, said in a statement. "The Entrepreneur Of The Year award salutes their efforts in business excellence and community improvement. We would all do well to emulate their determination and enthusiasm."
Vaccaro has led TicketNetwork to explosive growth since its creation in 2002, with revenues exceeding $80 million by 2007. The company, which owns TicketNews, produces software products for ticket brokers, operates ticket reselling Web sites and is the host of the annual Ticket Summit trade show and conference, scheduled for July 15-17 in Las Vegas.
“The entire TicketNetwork team is proud to be acknowledged as one of Metro New York’s fastest growing companies,” Vaccaro said. “The secondary ticket industry is evolving quickly, and we are firmly positioned to continue to capitalize on additional expansion opportunities in new markets.".
Winners of the regional awards are eligible for consideration for the
Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year 2009 national awards, according to the company. The 23rd annual national entrepreneurial awards are scheduled to be presented during a ceremony November 14, 2009, in Palm Springs, CA.

Why would anyone give this joker an award?
They gave him an award because he's a good business man. If you push your feelings of jealousy aside, perhaps you can learn from him.
Don,
Congradulations on this very prestigious award.
You just gotta love Don's shirt in this picture. Can someone please teach this man how to dress?????
I like that Don wears those crazy shirts. I think it fits his personality. Congrats, Don!
Whoops, I wasn't saying he was crazy. I meant that he has a bold and fun personality.
That's because he's so cheap he buys his clothes on eBay!
Don, did you write that?
