Hard rock quartet Trapt is currently on the road with Mötley Crüe's Crüe Fest, but when that journey ends on August 31, the band will launch directly into a string of headlining dates. The new 17-city venture begins September 3 in West Springfield, VA, and wraps September 27 in Salt Lake City, UT.

The tour is mostly comprised of Midwest and West Coast dates, with East Coast engagements limited to the opening show and successive Maryland and South Carolina performances. Trapt will have an extended stay in Texas, as the group has Lone Star State gigs on the books for September 7-10 in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Pharr.

The alternative metal band is touring in support of its third studio album, "Only Through the Pain," released August 5. The record is a follow-up to 2005's "Someone in Control," which peaked at No. 14 on the U.S. charts and is certified Gold. "Pain" debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200, and was ranked at No. 5 on iTunes' charts.

Trapt formed in Los Gatos, CA, in 1997, but didn't make their studio debut until 2002's eponymous album, which is now certified Platinum in the U.S. In addition to the current Crüe Fest tour with Mötley Crüe and Buckcherry, the band has also toured with Nickelback and Chevelle in the past.
