The official lineup for Lollapalooza 2008 has been confirmed with Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Kanye West and Nine Inch Nails among the acts scheduled for the Aug. 1-3 event at Chicago’s Grant Park. Wilco and the Raconteurs also top the bill, which will have a total of about 120 acts, and that will also include Love and Rockets, Gnarls Barkley, Bloc Party, The Black Keys, Broken Social Scene, Flogging Molly, Mark Ronson, Cat Power, Lupe Fiasco, The National, G. Love & Special Sauce and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings.

Early-bird three-day passes at $175 have already sold out. Still available is the three-day advance pass ($190). When that sells out, the regular three-day pass ($205) will go on sale. Prices are all inclusive with no hidden costs and no surcharges.

The multi-artist, multi-stage music festival is also cultivating the next generation of Lollapalooza fans with Kidzpalooza that includes family-oriented musicians such as Peter Himmelman; Paul Green’s School of Rock Allstars; The Sippy Cups; Peter DiStefano and festival founder Perry Farrell and The Hipwaders; a hip-hop workshop; a rock and roll petting zoo; hair and makeup styling; and a dance floor.

Lollapalooza was conceived and created in 1991 by Farrell, and it criss-crossed the country through 1997. After a five-year hiatus, it was revived in 2003 but was forced to cancel its 2004 outing due to poor advance ticket sales. It had a second revival in 2005 when it was staged as a non-traveling festival in Chicago where it remains firmly planted through 2011.
