Aerosmith

Boston-based rock band Aerosmith formed in the early 1970s and quickly made a name for itself on the U.S. market with hits such as "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way." The band is firmly placed within the world's 20 top selling artists with more than 66.5 million records sold overall.

Over the years, the band has released more than ten studio albums and toured almost yearly to support each release. Despite the frequency of Aerosmith's past tours, the group finished its last run of the road in 2007. However, frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry have increasingly commented about the possibility of a new album and tour for the group, building fan anticipation.

Aerosmith grabs No. 1 in Events Rankings, but One Direction still going strong

By Tammy Whaley

Leading the way in this week's TicketNews' exclusive event rankings is The Global Warming Tour, featuring Rock and Roll legends Aerosmith and Cheap Trick. With a renewed interest in Aerosmith's front man Steven Tyler, who appears as a judge on the popular show American Idol, the group soared past the popular British boy band One Direction, who held the top spot in last week's listings.

Aerosmith gears up for comeback Global Warming Tour

By Jerry Beach

Few American rock and roll bands have risen from the ashes of their self-inflicted wreckage as often as Aerosmith has. But the Boston bad boys may be about to mount their greatest comeback yet.

Today, March 28, Aerosmith is scheduled to host a press conference in Los Angeles, during which the band is expected to discuss their forthcoming, as yet unnamed record as well as their upcoming Global Warming Tour with Cheap Trick. On Monday, March 26, 18 dates were released, stretching from June 16 at the Target Center in Minneapolis to August 8 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington, with the possibility of more dates still to come. Presales have just begun and general public onsales are scheduled to start Saturday, March 31.

Secondary ticket sales for Aerosmith are showing signs of a decline

By Jerry Beach

It’s almost impossible to discuss the ticket demand — or lack thereof — for Aerosmith's summer tour without making a pun about one of their many hit songs.

“I think people have become jaded with farewell tours, to begin with,” eSeats.com owner Bob Bernstein said, knowingly or unknowingly referencing Aerosmith’s most recent top 10 hit, "Jaded." “I don’t know if people either don’t buy into it or they’re skeptical, but I’ve definitely seen a downturn in interest in this last tour.”

By Allison Reitz

Steven Tyler made a special appearance at Fenway Park to perform "God Bless America" for the seventh-inning stretch on Major League Baseball's opening night (April 4). But the rock star vocalist, joined by his fellow Bad Boys of Boston, will return to the famed ballpark before the end of summer for a much different reason.

During the April 7 Red Sox vs. Yankees game, Tyler and vocalist Peter Wolf announced that their Boston-based bands Aerosmith and the J. Geils Band will play a late summer concert at the historic stadium on August 14.

Aerosmith to play Hawaii makeup concerts in mid-October

By Alfred Branch Jr.

Iconic rock band Aerosmith will play two concerts in Hawaii on October 18 and 20 to satisfy the settlement the band reached for the cancellation of a show in the 50th state in 2007.

The band will play a show in Oahu on the 18th and a show in Maui on the 20th, and more than 3,200 fans will see one of the shows for free and be compensated for travel expenses, according to terms of the settlement. More than 8,000 fans were eligible for free tickets as part of the class action lawsuit filed on their behalf after the September 2007 cancellation. Of those 8,000-plus fans, a little over 40 percent, or the 3,200-plus, requested the tickets and travel compensation.

Aerosmith assures commitment to make-up concert in Maui

By Jane Cohen & Bob Grossweiner

Hawaii-based Aerosmith attorney Jay Handlin has assured that the rock band will honor a court settlement to perform a free concert on Maui. But it may be after the anticipated late September or October time frame.

The settlement stems from a class-action suit filed by ticketholders after Aerosmith cancelled a Maui concert in September 2007 in order to play a larger concert in Chicago, as well as a more lucrative private event for Toyota on Oahu. The suit claims the cancellation cost ticket buyers between $500,000 and $3 million in travel costs, handling fees and other related expenses.
