Billy Joel is an American singer-songwriter best known for his hit single "Piano Man" and abilities as a pianist. Since his debut in the 1970s, he has remained a popular performer, releasing more than thirty Top 40 singles in his career.
Once a prolific recording and touring artist, Joel has taken several brief hiatuses in recent years. When he does perform, it is often in front of sold-out crowds, and Billy Joel tickets routinely rank high in TicketNews's exclusive concert rankings.
Joel has a strong partnership with fellow rock pianist Elton John. The two have staged several co-headlining tours under the "Face 2 Face" moniker -- 1994-95 and 2001-03, as well as a projected 2009-10 venture. The productions feature solo sets from both performers, as well as collaborative sets that position Joel and John at facing pianos, singing and playing together.
