Bob Dylan


Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter whose career has spanned more than four decades. His musical style has gone through various stages over the years, including elements of folk, blues, country, rock and gospel. Dylan has recorded more than 30 studio albums, making his self-titled debut in 1962 and releasing his first "Greatest Hits" compilation just years later in 1967.

Dylan has received dozens of awards and honors during his career, including induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation in 2008. He has been recognized as one of the most influential recording artists in history.

Because of his status as a living legend, tickets for Dylan's tours are in high demand internationally. He performs in, and fills, venues ranging in size from intimate concert and theater halls to arenas and minor league ballparks.

Bob Dylan tour maps more U.S. dates for summer 2011

Bob Dylan is preparing for his usual summer tour across the United States. The iconic singer-songwriter will be back on the road starting next month with a 23-city national routing.

The coast-to-coast tour kicks off with a July 14 concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, CA, and continues through August 20, when Dylan will perform at the Waterfront Pavilion in downtown Bangor, ME.

Two solid months of performances await Bob Dylan, whose U.S. fall tour launches tonight (October 6) at University Center Arena in Davie, FL. The legendary singer-songwriter's itinerary is routed through 35 markets — most of them college and university towns like tonight's opening show.

The musician and His Band previously announced fall tour dates stretched through the early part of November, but with the addition of several new dates, the schedule now wraps at the end of the month with a November 27 concert at MGM Grand Theater in Mashantucket, CT.

Bob Dylan tour announces seven more concerts for October, November

Bob Dylan and His Band are off the road at the moment, but the legendary musician and his backing band are busy rolling out more concert plans for fall. A total of 19 concerts are now on Dylan's late-year calendar, which opens October 6 at NSU's University Center Arena in Davie, FL.

In keeping with the other dates on this leg of Dylan's tour, the shows are mostly slated for U.S. college and university venues. The new seven-date addendum picks up October 24 at the McLeod Center at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA, and continues through a November 2 performance at the EJ Thomas Performing Arts Hall at the University of Akron in Akron, OH.

Bob Dylan tour rolls on with new October concert dates

After touring the Western states in late summer, Bob Dylan is building and expanding plans for a fall tour that will keep him on the Southern and Midwestern circuit for most of October. At present, the itinerary is one dozen dates long and predominantly booked into university and college venues.

The legendary musician and His Band open their calendar with an October 6 show at the NSU University Center Arena in Davie, FL, and will stay on the road through an October 22 event at Assembly Hall in Champaign, IL. Other events are set for October 10 at UCF Arena in Orlando, FL; October 13 at BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham, AL; and October 19 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

Bob Dylan's 'ticketless' Warfield Theatre show not a sell-out but deemed a success

Folk-rock legend Bob Dylan, no stranger to experimenting with how tickets are sold to his shows, held a concert at The Warfield Theatre in San Francisco last night, August 25, where fans paid an admission fee at the door, in cash, eschewing advanced ticket sales in an attempt to thwart secondary market ticket sales.

The show in the 2,250-capacity theater did not sell out, according to Joan Rosenberg, director of marketing for The Warfield, but patrons did not complain about spending hours in line before the concert, which cost a flat fee of $60 per person.

John Mellencamp tour gets 'Better' after Bob Dylan concerts, Farm Aid

John Mellencamp is at the start of a busy concert season, as he splits his time between supporting a fellow American music legend and launching a new headlining tour of his own. The first leg of the No Better Than This Tour will kick off October 29 at Indiana University Auditorium in Bloomington, IN, and continues through a November 26-27 stand at Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL.

The 16-date Midwestern itinerary includes shows on November 3 at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN; November 8 at Clowes Memorial Hall in Indianapolis, IN; and November 19 at Fox Theatre in Detroit, MI.

Bob Dylan tour extends late summer concert plans into northwest

Bob Dylan has extended the road plans for his late summer tour of the United States. The legendary troubadour added a week of shows to the previously announced itinerary, filling in a gap left before his September 4 appearance at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, WA.

Where the old itinerary left off with an August 22 show at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena in Stateline, NV, Dylan's updated routing will pick up with an August 27 gig at Les Schwab Amphitheater in Bend, OR. The entire trek still opens August 4 at The Backyard in Austin, TX.

Bob Dylan tour visits U.S. sheds and ballparks with late summer run

Bob Dylan is rolling out the tour bus again in time for a late summer run of seasonal sheds and ballparks.

The iconic troubadour launches his latest American tour on August 4 with a performance at The Backyard in Austin, TX. With 15 shows presently booked, Dylan will be on the road at least through a September 4 appearance at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, WA.

Speaking of big sellers, teen heartthrobs the Jonas Brothers have a concert in New Orleans among the Saturday morning onsales. The brothers are not currently on tour, which makes the upcoming show a hot commodity. Seeing as the band has been selling out shows repeatedly for the last year, it is a safe bet that tickets to the New Orleans engagement will be just as hot.
