Nebraska native and Indie Folk Rock singer Conor Oberst shot to fame after his involvement with the band Bright Eyes. Together they released 10 albums between 1998 and 2007, during which time Oberst released 7 solo albums and involved himself in numerous side projects, including alternate bands such as the "Desaparecidos," "Commander Venus," and "Park Ave.," among others.
Oberst cites musicians like Davis Dondero, Simon Joyner, Neil Young, Daniel Johnston, and Emmylou Harris as his major sources of inspiration. In conjunction with his brother, Oberst founded the "Saddle Creek Records" label and later went on to found the "Team Love" label, which would enable him to work on smaller projects.
