Streaking Penguins ready to welcome Crosby back

The Pittsburgh Penguins are on a roll and they're about to get the best player in hockey back on the ice.

The Penguins have won nine in a row after a 5-2 victory Sunday over the Boston Bruins in Pittsburgh. A 21-4-1 run has moved them four points behind the Eastern Conference-leading New York Rangers. This week, they're expected to welcome back captain and former MVP Sidney Crosby, who has missed the past three months with concussion symptoms.

Crosby, Stills & Nash tour still unveiling new North American concerts

Crosby, Stills & Nash continue to push the limits on their fast-approaching summer tour of North America. In yet another revision to their itinerary, the folk rock trio has padded the summer-long tour with 22 additional performances.

As previously announced, the CSN tour is split into two summer legs, with the first beginning June 3 at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, MO, and ending June 14 at the Bank of American Pavilion in Boston, MA. The additional dates have been added to the second leg, which now picks up July 25 at Merrill Auditorium at City Hall in Portland, OR, and concludes September 28-29 at Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay in San Diego, CA.

Punk rock group Green Day has finally confirmed the venues for its upcoming tour of the U.S. and Canada. The trio has also pushed its 2009 tour into Europe with nearly 30 new shows. Meanwhile, the legendary guitar-driven indie band Sonic Youth is keeping its tour plans stateside -- at least for the time being. More than 20 U.S. cities are on the band's currently 2009 itinerary.

Crosby, Stills & Nash tour maps more summer dates for U.S.

David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash -- known collectively as Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) -- have expanded their summer touring plans for the U.S. through the end of summer. The folk-rock trio's second leg of national concerts picks up July 26 at the Gathering of the Vibes Festival in Bridgeport, CT, and stretches through September 28-29 at Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay in San Diego, CA.

With the addition of more than 10 shows, the entire U.S. tour is now scheduled to hit 23 cities throughout the summer months. Highlights of the most recently added dates are an August 1 performance at Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI, and an August 14 concert at Filene Center at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA.

Crosby, Stills & Nash to headline Gathering of the Vibes Festival

Crosby, Stills & Nash will headline the four-day Gathering of the Vibes Festival 2009 to be held July 23-26 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, CT. In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival, they will be joined by fellow Woodstock participants Bob Weir & RatDog (Weir performed at Woodstock with the Grateful Dead); Levon Helm, former drummer and vocalist for The Band; and activist Wavy Gravy, who will serve as master of ceremonies.

There are no single-day tickets for the first day of the festival. "That day is a bonus day of music for those who buy weekend camping passes," a festival spokesperson told TicketNews.

Crosby, Stills & Nash tour plots U.S. concerts this summer

Legendary folk-rock supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) will take their harmonies across the United States this summer on the first leg of a new tour. David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash will launch the outing on June 3 at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, MO, and wrap June 14 at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA.

The seven-show U.S. run also includes a June 4 performance at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, IL, and a June 13 concert at the MGM Grand Theater in Mashantucket, CT. The full itinerary is listed below.

David Crosby and Graham Nash tour together

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers David Crosby and Graham Nash began harmonizing together in 1968 and haven't stopped since. This fall, the two will be trading harmonies once again when they head out on a 26-city tour.

The tour's first date on September 27 in Oakland, CA is a concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Seva Foundation. Also appearing are Jackson Brown, Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos and host Wavy Gravy. The venues include a mix of performing arts centers and theaters. The tour ends on November 9 in Sioux City, IA.

David Crosby kicks off “Lyrically Speaking”

Legendary singer/songwriter David Crosby will launch the third annual "Lyrically Speaking" songwriter series in Aspen next month. The pioneering concert-and-conversation program, presented by the Aspen Writer's Foundation and Jetride, will feature Crosby in an interview and solo performance on April 8 at the Belly Up Aspen.

"As a singer-songwriting icon, social justice advocate and vocal master, David Crosby's powerful lyrics have moved generations of music lovers," said Lisa Consiglio, executive director of the Aspen Writers' Foundation, in a statement. "Lyrically Speaking is about music with a message, and David embodies that spirit."
