To say that Curtis Broome, the president of Eventmobile.net believes in his company would be an understatement. Not only does he speak with the excited forcefulness of a true believer, even his business card is in the shape of a cell phone.

Eventmobile.net is a mobile ticketing and event notification service that allows consumers to share information on live music and events, and purchase tickets, from their cell phones and online. Joining the site is free, and Broome is convinced that it signals the wave of the future.

“Our goals for the user are for them to have the ability for maximum personalization and maximum choice,” Broome told TicketNews. “We want to offer customers options, such as mobile tickets, hard tickets through will call, whatever they want.”

The Web site allows users to enter preferences on the performers, locations or venues they like and then matches events to those preferences. The event listings are dynamic and in real-time so they’re updated constantly, and they are GPS enhanced to offer event listings in a user’s area.

In addition, the service is mirrored on the Web and on a cell phone, and a user can alert hundreds of friends know of an event in seconds by notifying people in their network. They can also purchase tickets to specific events.

Broome said that what the service specializes in is letting users know about their favorite bands or shows before they know they’re coming to their area.

“The fundamental problem with search today is that you have to know that an event is happening or a venue exists,” Broome said. “So, we tried to create a platform that preferentially tells you about events that you don’t even know about, but that you’re interested in attending.”

It works on all cell phones and carriers, he added. “We believe we’re the first company in North America that offers this type of true mobile ticketing option.”
