Set to deploy on February 3rd, 2010, the joint tour of Elton John and Billy Joel will be hitting cities across the USA through March 10th, 2010. This is the third time the duo will be touring together since joining forces in 1994 and again in 2003, which was a sold-out run. The performances will alternate between John and Joel sharing the stage, to each of them performing separately with their respective bands. The early 2010 dates were make ups for several cancelled shows in 2009, due to illnesses affecting both performers. In addition, a planned summer 2010 outing was scrapped by Joel for personal reasons.
Elton John and Billy Joel have sold 250 million and 100 million records, respectively, making them two of the best selling artists of all time. Elton's tribute to Princess Diana, "Candle in the Wind," became the best selling single of all time with 37 million copies sold, and Joel's singles "My Life" and "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" went platinum in 1978 and 1980, respectively.

Elton John to play new 'Piano' residency in Vegas
After taking a couple years to tour nationally and internationally, Elton John will return to Las Vegas later this year for his second headlining residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The show, entitled "The Million Dollar Piano," is booked into a three-year block at the same venue that housed his earlier "Red Piano" run. Dates and onsales have been revealed for the first 16 nights of the residency, which opens September 28 and continues with performances on September 30, October 1-2, 6-9, 13-15, 18-19 and 21-23.
'Wicked' holds off Elton John to retain top event ranking for second straight week
The long-running musical Wicked is keeping its edge over all rivals, according to TicketNews' exclusive events rankings for the week ending Sunday, March 20. The hit show, in residence at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City, topped the list for the second straight week, power scoring a respectable 4.37.
Musical artists took over the remainder of the list this week, starting with Elton John at two (3.30), Jimmy Buffett at three (3.18) and Bob Seger, who is prepping for the March 26 launch of his spring tour, at four (2.92).
Elton John tour expands plans for U.S. concerts this spring
Elton John has expanded his plans winter and spring tour plans for North America. The rock musician will hit arenas and conventions centers across the continent over nearly three months.
The 20-city trek launches early next week with a February 14-15 stand at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC. And thanks to the recent unveiling of more dates, John's concert calendar now stretches through a May 6 performance at the Entertainment Covention Center in Duluth, MN.

Elton John and Leon Russell are little more than a month away from the October 19 release of their studio collaboration "The Union."
After unveiling a couple scattered U.S. shows to support the effort, the pair has expanded their Union Tour to include shows on both sides of the Atlantic. New U.S. engagements have been set for October 5 at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA, and November 6 at U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ.

Piano-playing icons Elton John and Leon Russell will debut their new collaboration in concert several weeks earlier than previously expected. The veteran musicians this week announced plans to play for New York City audiences on the release date for their upcoming album, "The Union."
The record release and coinciding concert are scheduled for October 19. John and Russell will take the stage at the historic Beacon Theatre in New York, NY, performing a mix of songs from their new project, as well as selections from their respective careers.
Elton John, Leon Russell to showcase 'Union' with Hollywood Palladium concert
On November 3, veteran rock musicians and fellow pianists Elton John and Leon Russell will share a stage for one night at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, CA.
Tickets for the concert will be available to the public starting August 6, with an all-in pricing structure bringing the cost per ticket to $99. Admission to the one-off is general admission with no seating available, according to a notice from the event's primary seller, Live Nation.
