FanPrice is a Web site that allows fans to set the price they're willing to pay for tickets. Created in 2007 and officially launched in 2008, the site links fans and ticket sellers in what the company believes is a "fair market ecosystem," according to officials. Fanprice users buy and sell tickets to sporting events, concerts and theater in a secure online marketplace.
The site works like this, if a fan only wants to spend $50 for a ticket to an event, they can log on and set that price. As the event draws near, sellers are sometimes more eager to adjust their prices, as are buyers, and the site allows the two to meet somewhere in the middle. Buyers pre-enter their credit card information, which means sales happen quickly and sellers don't have to wait for payment.
Users can view detailed venue maps, which allows them to set the price they are willing to pay for seats in particular sections, making it easy to determine how much specific seats are worth to them.
