Guster

Guster was formed in 1991 by Adam Gardner, Ryan Miller and Brian Rosenworcel while they were attending college in Massachusetts. The alternative rock group released two albums in the mid-90s before breaking into the mainstream with their third album, 1999’s “Lost and Gone Forever.” They continued their success with “Keep It Together” in 2003 (a year in which a fourth member, Joe Pisapia, was added to the group) and “Ganging Up on the Sun” in 2006.

Guster started their annual Campus Consciousness Tour in the spring of 2006, an event that aims to teach college audiences about the environment. Following their fourth of these tours in 2009, the group announced a fall 2009 tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of “Lost and Gone Forever,” encompassing several cities that have some historical significance for Guster, including the venue where they launched the original Lost & Gone Forever Tour.

Guster tour tackles environmental issues with Campus Consciousness

By Allison Reitz

Alternative rock group Guster is hitting the road -- and the books -- with a month-long tour of American college campuses this spring. The 12-date Campus Consciousness Tour is part of an initiative with environmental organization Reverb to educate students about environmental issues and local activism opportunities.

The venture launches April 7 at Clark University in Worcester, MA, and concludes May 2 at Albright College in Reading, PA. In addition to visiting campuses along the East Coast, the band will also push further west for an April 22 concert at Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheatre in Austin, TX, to benefit the Hill Country Conservancy.
