Jewel

Jewel is an American Grammy award-winning musician. Her first album, “Pieces of You,” launched her to superstardom in 1995, hitting 12x platinum in the U.S. She followed up in 1998 with “Spirit,” which went quadruple platinum. Over the next several years, she released six more studio albums, most recently “Lullaby” in 2009. She has tried out different musical styles over the course of her career, releasing her first country album, “Perfectly Clear,” in 2008. The album reached #1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

In September 2009, Jewel announced plans for an acoustic tour at the end of the year. The venture includes 15 cities throughout the east coast and Midwest. She also started work on a new studio album as a follow-up to “Perfectly Clear.”

Jewel tour plots acoustic 'Star Light Café' concerts for summer

Crossover musician Jewel will continue to explore her country roots this summer with plans for the one-month Star Light Café Tour.

The 20-date tour begins June 1 at Fargo Theatre in Fargo, ND, and wraps June 27 at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, WA. Along the way, Jewel will also stage her acoustic show on June 4 at Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL; June 16 at The Midland in Kansas City, MO; and June 24 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, WA.

Jewel tour ends the year with more acoustic concerts in the U.S.

Folk-country musician Jewel has announced her full plans for a late-year acoustic tour of the United States. The 15-city trek begins October 27 at Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, MD, and wraps November 15 at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, TX.

The acoustic tour includes performances across the eastern seaboard and Midwest, but falls short of a full coast-to-coast span. The itinerary features stops on October 28 at Knight Theater in Charlotte, NC; November 3 at the Fillmore at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, FL; and November 12 at One World Theater in Austin, TX.

Details on the sudden death of DJ AM and the end of an era for Oasis are in the mix for the daily tour recap on August 31, as compiled by TicketNews.

Celebrity disk jockey Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was found dead of an apparent overdose in his New York apartment on August 28. The club DJ, who worked with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker under the moniker TRV$DJ-AM, was a recovering drug and food addict and said he had been sober for years. However, according to initial reports, his body was found with drug paraphernalia and an unintentional overdose is suspected. The 36-year-old Goldstein died almost a year after recovering from the fatal jet crash of which he and Barker were the sole survivors.

Jewel tour plots 'Perfectly Clear' solo acoustic dates

Singer-songwriter singer Jewel is turning a new leaf in 2009. Known best for her folksy pop songs and guitar strumming, the vocalist is showcasing her country roots for the first time with a new album and supporting tour.

The acoustic trek begins January 23 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Windsor, ON, and wraps February 8 at The Klein in Bridgeport, CT. Besides the opening night, all dates are booked for the U.S. with January shows making the Midwest circuit and the February gigs heading along the East Coast.
