Neil Young


Neil Young is a Canadian singer-songwriter who blends elements of rock, country and folk in his music. Nationally, Young has sold more than 17.5 million solo records and an additional 18 million as a member of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the early 1970s. As a solo artist, he has performed with a wide range of musicians, but his best known backing band has been Crazy Horse. During his career, Young has been a key influence in various subgenres of rock, including grunge, for which he has earned the nickname "the Godfather of Grunge." He remains a prolific recording artist and a popular touring act. When he's on the road to support a new album, he is usually booked into medium to large arenas.

Neil Young tour takes 'Le Noise' on the road through spring

For three weeks this spring, songman Neil Young will cross the country on a 10-city solo tour of U.S. theaters.

The solo tour will feature a mix from Young's newest album, "Le Noise," as well as hits and deep tracks that span his lengthy career. Young's spring 2011 journey begins April 15 at the Performing Arts Center in Durham, NC, and concludes with a May 6-7 stand at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL.

Neil Young tour lengthens 'Twisted Road' run with more summer concerts

Despite recently completing a solo tour across North America, Neil Young apparently has no plans to take a vacation from the road this summer.

The iconic performer will begin the next leg of the Twisted Road Tour with a July 11-12 stand at Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. Ten concerts are booked presently for the summer outing, which wraps July 30 at Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee, WI.

From four dates to 14, singer-songwriter Neil Young has more than tripled the length of his upcoming solo tour of the United States.

The Twisted Road Tour itinerary now opens with a May 18 gig at Palace Theatre in Albany, NY, and wraps with a June 7 show at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, TX. The veteran musician's calendar also includes performances on May 24 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC, and June 4 at Jones Hall in Houston, TX.

Neil Young tours solo for spring 'Twisted Road' concerts

Iconic singer-songwriter Neil Young has performed with A-list backing bands and musicians over the course of his 50-year career. But this year, the "Heart of Gold" folk rocker will go solo for a series of performances across the nation.

Young has confirmed just four dates for this spring's Twisted Road Tour, with more expected to follow. As it stands now, the itinerary opens with a May 26 engagement at Louisville Palace Theatre in Louisville, KY, followed by additional gigs on May 29 at Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA, and May 30 at the Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg, SC.

Neil Young to receive 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year award

Music icon Neil Young will be honored as the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year at its 20th anniversary gala on January 29, 2010, in recognition of his influential artistic accomplishments and his philanthropic work.

Proceeds from the annual gala during Grammy Week in Los Angeles, CA, benefits MusiCares, which provides financial, medical and personal assistance to those in need in the music industry. Tickets are available by calling 310-392-3777.

Neil Young tour kicks off second leg in Canada

Legendary folk-rocker Neil Young is following his late 2008 North American tour with a new leg of dates this spring. The outing begins with a month-long jaunt across Canada from April 6 at Mile One Centre in St. John's, NL, through April 25 at the ENMAX Centre in Lethbridge, AB.

The 10-city tour has stops scheduled in most of the provinces, including an April 10 concert at Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, NS, an April 15 performance at the John Labatt Centre in London, ON, an April 20 show at Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon, SK, and an April 23 event at Rexall Place in Edmonton, AB.

Neil Young tour postpones two early November shows until spring 2009

Neil Young's November 4 concert at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO, and November 5 concert at the Qwest Center in Omaha, NE have been postponed until spring. "Routing logistics" were cited as the cause by concert promoter Live Nation.

Tickets for the original performances will be honored for the rescheduled spring 2009 shows, which will be announced in the future. Death Cab for Cutie and Everest were scheduled to open for both of the postponed concerts.

Jazz and big band music seems to be reclaiming the roads this season. Harry Connick, Jr. began announcing the first dates for his Holiday Celebration Tour for winter 2008, with more dates expected in the near future. Neil Young tour taps Death Cab For Cutie, Wilco

Following a successful three-month tour of Europe, Neil Young is preparing for his eight-week North American tour with Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco and Everest. The Live Nation-produced performances kick off October 14 in St. Paul, MN, and culminate on December 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.

Eight of the 19 shows scheduled for Young will take place in the Canadian provinces. The tour rounds out with stops in major cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, CA; Omaha, NE; Detroit, MI; Chicago, IL; and Philadelphia, PA. The backing band from Young's European gigs will reprise its role for the singer/songwriter's North American adventure.
