Nine Inch Nails

Since its debut in the late 1980s, Nine Inch Nails has earned its place as one of the world's leading industrial rock bands. Led by frontman and only principal member Trent Reznor, the band's lineup has changed over the years depending on Reznor's creative vision both in the studio and on stage.

Nine Inch Nails has also earned itself the reputation as a must-see live act for its impressive and ever-evolving production level, making its concerts a hot repeat ticket. The band's 2008 Lights in the Sky tour legs featured an interactive light show that earned the band acclaim from fans and critics alike.

Reznor has also become known not only for his musical talent and the production value of his shows, but also for being an outspokent opponent of ticket scalping. Nine Inch Nails often retains a percentage of the best tickets for each show, sells them in limited quantities to fan club members, and prints the buyer's name on each ticket.

In 2009, Reznor announced that Nine Inch Nails would go on an indefinite hiatus after completing a farewell tour of sorts with the recently reunited Jane's Addiction.

By Alfred Branch Jr.

Opponents of the proposed merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation have a powerful new ally in the voice of Trent Reznor, creator of the hugely popular band Nine Inch Nails (NIN), who this week ripped the two companies for what he believes is their plan for hooking up: to begin offering an "auction or market-based pricing scheme" for tickets that could ultimately drive up prices.

In a post on the band's official Web site, Reznor questions the merits of the merger, but he also levels harsh criticism at the secondary ticket market, which he accuses Ticketmaster of profiting from.

Bruce Springsteen, Phish, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails headline Bonnaroo

By Jane Cohen & Bob Grossweiner

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Phish, the Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Wilco, Al Green, David Byrne, Snoop Dogg, Elvis Costello and Erykah Badu are among the initial round of artists confirmed for the eighth annual installment of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, June 11-14 in Manchester, TN. The event was founded and produced by Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment.

This year’s event marks the only 2009 festival appearances by Springsteen and Phish. Phish will play two shows – a full two-set performance as well as an additional late-evening set. Their appearance also holds special significance since the group has performed at the festival in various incarnations over the years, and their own festivals were one of the major inspirations for the creation of Bonnaroo and its operational strategies. Many of the organizers of Phish’s multi-day camping festivals were brought on to help with the creation of Bonnaroo in 2002 and continue to play a major role in the festival today.
