After Thirsk’s death, the group continued to produce albums steadily and maintain a strong fanbase. Lead singer Jim Lindberg left Pennywise in August 2009; the group recently chose Zoli Teglas of Ignite as a temporary replacement, but no official permanent replacement has been found. Despite their setbacks, Pennywise continues to be a successful rock band and tours often, most recently in the fall of 2009.
Pennywise concerts tap Ignite's Zoli Teglas as temporary lead singer
As Pennywise searches for a new lead singer, Zoli Teglas, frontman for hardcore punk band Ignite, will temporarily fill in on vocals during the group's October 24 set at the 2009 Smokeout Festival at San Manuel Amphitheatre in San Bernardino, CA.
The festival, which runs October 23-24, marks the group's first major appearance since the Southern California punk rock group's lead singer and songwriter Jim Lindberg quit Pennywise after nearly 20 years.

After nearly 20 years, nine albums and countless shows around the world, Pennywise lead singer and songwriter Jim Lindberg has left the Southern California punk rock group.
“My time in Pennywise has come to an end," Lindberg said in a statement. "Being the singer for this band has been an amazing experience, and along the way we made some of the best fans anyone could ask for."
Last chance for Ne-Yo, Pennywise tickets

Rapper Ne-Yo is finishing his current tour for "Year of the Gentleman" with five more concerts scheduled through his March 1 closer at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis, MO. His next show is February 25 at Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA.
Jagermeister Music Tour taps Pennywise, Pepper as headliners
Entering its seven year, the Jagermeister Music Tour has announced punk rock band Pennywise and rock-reggae crew Pepper as the headliners for its spring tour. The trek kicks off April 13 at Showbox SoDo in Seattle, WA, and closes May 23 at Myth in St. Paul, MN.
The tour will hit 25 cities across the country, including an April 17 concert at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, CO, an April 27 show at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA, a May 13 performance at 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, a May 16 event at Terminal 5 in New York, NY, and a May 21 session at the House of Blues in Chicago, IL.

With the presidential inauguration just a week away, plans are starting to heat up for the various celebrations honoring President-elect Barack Obama. The Beastie Boys and Sheryl Crow have signed up to headline the official Rock The Vote Inaugural Gala, dubbed "Hey, America Feels Kinda Cool Again." Meanwhile, there are two competing Green Inaugural Balls for conscientious revelers. Influential rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z recently announced that he will be having a concert in Washington, D.C. on January 19 to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama. The concert will take place at the Warner Theatre, a venue that seats less than 2,000 people. Ticket prices for the concert will range from $375 to $500. After Obama was elected president this past November, Jay-Z wrote the "History" to commemorate the landmark election.
Continuing to tour in support of her second studio album, "On a Clear Night," up-and-coming singer Missy Higgins will embark on a 24-city trek across the U.S. which is scheduled to begin February 19 at the House of Blues in Houston. Pennywise launches U.S. tour
Following sold out shows in Japan and Australia and after logging nearly 400,000 free downloads of their ninth studio album, "Reason to Believe," Pennywise has launched a U.S. tour of headlining shows and radio festivals running through June 7 in Mountainview, CA.
Later this summer, the Hermosa Beach, CA band will join the Vans Warped Tourfor a string of main stage dates at shows in the East and Midwest, July 15-Aug. 3.
