Pinback is an indie rock band that was formed in 1998 by Rob Crow and Armistead Burwell Smith IV. Although the core duo has remained, the group has undergone several personnel changes, with nearly a dozen past members, as well as two drummers that alternate. Pinback has released four studio albums and one compilation, beginning with 1999’s “This is a Pinback CD.” Their most recent album, entitled “Autumn of the Seraphs,” was released in 2007 and reached #69 on the U.S. charts.
In June 2009, Pinback announced their fall tour, during which they are traveling to 26 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. The group recently signed with Temporary Residence Ltd. and currently have a fifth studio album in the works.
Pinback tour plots fall dates as work continues on new album
San Diego-based indie rock band Pinback will hit clubs across the U.S. and Canada later this fall as work continues on a new album. The 26-city outing kicks off October 17 at The Marquee in Tempe, AZ, and ends November 15 at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA.
The fall circuit includes stops from coast to coast across the nation, including an October 21 show at Exit/In in Nashville, TN, an October 30 concert at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York, NY, a November 6 performance at Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO, and a November 14 set at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. So far only one date has been booked north of the border for November 9 at Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC.
Pinback plans tour for 'Autumn'
After an absence from the road, indie rock outfit Pinback unveiled plans for an early fall outing on the tour circuit, slated to start September 16 in Tuscon, AZ, and wrap up October 22 in San Diego, CA. The tour features performances at music halls and clubs across the United States, and just one gig north of the border on October 7 in Toronto, ON.
Appropriately for the early-fall agenda, the 29-date tour supports Pinback's 2007 release "Autumn of the Seraphs." The album, which reached No. 69 on U.S. charts, is a follow-up to 2004's similarly seasonal "Summer in Abaddon."
