Ray LaMontagne, who was born June 18th 1974, is an American singer-songwriter, who has released three albums, “Trouble”, “Till the Sun Turns Black”, and “Gossip in the Grain” all of which have been on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. Ray LaMontagne has performed at charitable events such as From the Big Apple to the Big Easy, for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Warren Haynes Christmas Jam for Habitat for Humanity, as well as auctioning off one of his guitars, funding breast cancer research.
He has been nominated and received many awards, including eight nominations and three wins from the Boston Music Awards for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Male Singer/Songwriter, among others. He has also received six other nominations and two other wins for such awards as Acoustic Rock Artist of the Year from XM Nation Awards and Best Voice from Esky Music Awards.
Ray LaMontagne, David Gray tour U.S. together through late summer
Two contemporary singer-songwriters from opposite sides of the Atlantic will team this summer for a co-headlining tour of the United States.
Ray LaMontagne and David Gray have confirmed 17 dates for their outing, which launches August 15 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. The late summer routing will keep the folk-rockers on the road together for almost four weeks before they conclude their time together on September 10 at Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA.

Blues rock trio ZZ Top is making the best of Aerosmith's unexpected tour cancellations. The veteran musicians have announced that they'll stay on the road with their own headline tour of the U.S., beginning immediately. More than a dozen dates are lined up for the run, which continues through September.
Ray LaMontagne tour confirms U.S. 'Gossip' dates for fall 2009
Acclaimed folk singer-songwriter Ray LaMontagne has confirmed a new slate of U.S. concerts for fall, with a special musical flourish to start off the whole venture. LaMontagne will kick off his fall tour plans with two performances accompanied by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
The Maine-based musician and his symphonic accompaniment will grace the stage on October 15 at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD, and October 16 at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, MD. After a brief break in his schedule, LaMontagne will return to the concert circuit in November for at least nine additional shows.

Jam band megastar Phish has cemented its plans to revive its traditional weekend festival. The much anticipated 2009 event, dubbed Festival 8, has been booked for October 30 through November 1, making it the group's first ever three-day festival. The eight-set fest will be based at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA, with ticket sales beginning early next week.
Ray LaMontagne tour spreads more 'Gossip' around the U.S.
Currently on the road for a winter European tour, acclaimed folk musician Ray LaMontagne will return to the States for a new outing this spring. The 21-city tour begins April 2 at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ, and closes out with an April 30 gig at the Fillmore in Miami Beach, FL.
The month-long East Coast circuit includes an April 7 show at the Calvin Theater in Northampton, MA, an April 19 set at Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI, and an April 22 performance at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO. Two dates in Canada are booked for April 14 at Metropolis in Montreal, QC, and an April 15 concert at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON.

A concert mystery was solved today when Janet Jackson's camp finally addressed the multiple postponements and cancellations on her tour. Previously, the postponements had been chalked up to an unnamed illness that had some in the industry speculating that Jackson's tour wasn't faring well at the box office. But Jackson's manager has stated that the singer is feeling better and will be back on the road soon to complete her tour.
Ray LaMontagne tour books 28 dates through the fall
Ray LaMontagne has set his first North American tour in support of his new album, "Gossip In The Grain," due out October 14 on RCA Records. The six-week, 28-date fall trek starts on September 30 in Indianapolis, IN and wraps on November 9 in Seattle, WA.
The album was initially scheduled for an earlier release date but LaMontagne, struck by inspiration, went back into the studio last week to record additional material. Recorded in Box, England with returning producer Ethan Johns, touches upon a range of styles and musical settings, it spans pastoral folk, railroad blues, front porch country, and plangent balladry.
