Knicks, Roger Waters tickets help Madison Square Garden stay atop venue rankings

For the third week running, Madison Square Garden (MSG) once again took number one in TicketNews' exclusive venues rankings scoring an impressive 5.02 for the week ending Sunday, October 10.

MSG is of course home to the New York Rangers of the NHL, currently starting regular season play, and the New York Knicks of the NBA, still in preseason play. In music, MSG has a "who's who" of popular artists arriving in the coming months. In early November, Roger Waters takes the stage for the last of three scheduled dates at the venue, followed by Michael Buble later in the month. December sees performances by Rammstein, Usher and Phish, who have a three date appearance for the New Year's Eve holiday.

Roger Waters tour to feature one 'surprise' appearance from David Gilmour

Roger Waters made headlines earlier this year when he announced plans to revisit "The Wall" on an international tour beginning later this year. But the former Pink Floyd bassist won't be the only member of the iconic British rock band on that journey.

On the afternoon of July 14, Waters announced on his official Facebook page that Pink Floyd frontman David Gilmour would join him on tour. The special appearance will occur during a single show, with Gilmour providing his vocals for the iconic song "Comfortably Numb."

Roger Waters tour adds final concerts to 'The Wall' in North America

Classic rock icon Roger Waters has yet again expanded the scope of his North American tour of "The Wall Live" with four more concerts on the books for fall. A press statement from tour producer Live Nation credited the latest extension to "overwhelming demand for tickets," also adding these are the "final four" shows to be added in North America.

The addition of a September 24 show will now hold Waters in the Windy City of Chicago through four performances at the United Center. His run at Boston's TD Garden has been pushed out to three nights with a lately unveiled October 3 concert.

Roger Waters tour to take 'The Wall' to Europe in 2011

Rock veteran Roger Waters still has more than three months to go before launching The Wall Live Tour in North America. But the former Pink Floyd musician has already announced his plans to take the show overseas in 2011.

The European leg for The Wall Live Tour begins next spring with a March 21 event at Atlantic Pavilion in Lisbon, Portugal. Waters will continue his new staging of the classic Pink Floyd album "The Wall" through a June 18 performance at Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Roger Waters recently announced new dates for his North American tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Wall, and now he is number one in TicketNews' Top Events Rankings for the week ending May 16. With a 13.19 power score, he has a big lead over Wicked (two, 4.83) and pop queen Lady Gaga (three, 2.48). Justin Bieber prove his popularity by taking number four (2.29) in these rankings. Among the concert events that dominated the overall top ten, were a few sports events including the New York Yankees slip in (five, 2.15) as do the NBA Eastern Conference Finals featuring the Orlando Magic (ten, 1.32). The musical Jersey Boys makes the overall rankings at number nine (1.61). James Taylor & Carole King are now on the road for the Troubador Reunion Tour, and they still make number seven (1.90). Tool follows them in number eight with a 1.82 power score.

Roger Waters tour adds to 'The Wall' with a dozen new concert dates

Iconic musician Roger Waters has a dozen new dates on the books for The Wall Live Tour, launching in North America this fall. The extended itinerary, which includes second and third nights in select markets, was announced on May 10 as initial public onsales opened across the nation.

Waters' calendar now features 48 performance dates, beginning with an expanded three-night run on September 15, 16 and 18 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON. The North American leg of the tour ends with another newly extended stand on December 13 and14 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

Roger Waters tour prepares for 'The Wall Live' ticket presales

May 4 was Judgment Day for Roger Waters fans who registered for a chance to participate in this week's ticket presales.

Presale eligibility was handled lottery style in each North American market on the rocker's upcoming The Wall Live 2010 tour. Registered fans were able to enter their name into the presale lotteries for up to five cities. Drawing confirmations were sent just after midnight on May 4, with some registered fans receiving consolatory e-mails while others were greeted with a more welcoming "Congratulations!"

Roger Waters tour to revisit Pink Floyd classic 'The Wall' in North America

For the first time in about two decades, Roger Waters will undertake a cover-to-cover performance of one of contemporary music's most acclaimed works. Beginning in late summer, the veteran musician will play "The Wall" to audiences across North America before taking the tour overseas in 2011.

The 35-date North American trek launches September 15 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON, and concludes about three months later on December 13 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.

Roger Waters’s pig is found

The giant, inflated pig that floated away after Roger Waters's opening set at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, CA on April 27, was found a few miles away in La Quinta, CA, shredded and strewn over two residential properties.

The $10,000 award and four festival tickets for life the event’s organizers offered for the return of the pig will reportedly be shared by the two landowners.

Ex-Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters will take America on another mystic trip this spring, with a fantastic value-for-money show that includes two whole sets complete with customary light shows and other wild visual effects. In the first set, Waters will present a visual-audio panorama of his noted musical career, combining Pink Floyd and solo material to tell the story of his gifted personal voyage as an artist.
