Sara Bareilles is an American pop musician and part of the nation's recent movement of female singer-songwriters. She is best known as a pianist, though she also plays guitar. Bareilles released her debut "Careful Confessions" in 2004, but didn't break onto the mainstream charts until releasing her major label debut, 2007's "Little Voice." With her success largely driven by the smash hit single "Love Song," the record debuted at No. 45 on the Billboard 200, eventually climbing to the No. 7 slot. Bareilles has toured the U.S. several times, usually supported by similar singer-songwriters and visiting small- to medium-sized clubs and theaters.
Sara Bareilles tour announces headlining dates for winter 2009
Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles has had a busy year promoting her debut album. She'll revamp her efforts with a recently announced headlining tour in winter 2009, kicking off February 11 at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.
More than 10 North American dates are scheduled through a March 11 show at Hotel Café in Hollywood, CA, with additional tour announcements expected in the future. Singer-songwriter Tony Lucca will open for all nights of the winter outing.

New York City played host to the fifth annual Billboard Touring Conference and Awards this week, with panel discussions on November 19 and 20 that featured a keynote speech by Gene Simmons. The KISS co-founder revealed that tour talks are underway with Queen. But the musician and marketing master also had a few words for the industry on ticket pricing and the future of live entertainment.
Sara Bareilles, Wicked tickets on sale this weekend
Tickets for the upcoming Sara Bareilles tour and the final Chicago dates of Wicked are on sale throughout the weekend ending August 11 as compiled by TicketNews.
Producers have ruled out any extensions that would keep Wicked in Chicago after the January 25 finale. Tickets for the final block of performances go on sale Monday. However, the show goes on in Detroit, where more tickets will be available Sunday.
Sara Bareilles tours for second time in 2008
Hot off the heels of her first-ever headlining tour, pop pianist Sara Bareilles will be heading back out on the road this fall for a second set of headlining dates. Singer/songwriter Marc Broussard and the eclectic rock-folk band Raining Jane will join her on the road. Broussard will not perform on four dates of the tour: October 11, 17-18, and 26.
The 20-city tour kicks off on October 9 in San Diego, CA at Spreckels, and wraps up on November 7 in Atlantic City, NJ at the Music Box. Bareilles continues to support "Little Voice," her gold-certified studio debut for Epic Records. The album features one of the biggest hit songs in the country, “Love Song,” and its follow-up single, “Bottle It Up.”

Singer, songwriter and pianist Sara Bareilles will headline her first solo North American tour this spring -- a run of club dates April 14-30 in support of her debut album, “Little Voice.” The album, produced for Epic Records, features one of the top 10 songs in the country, "Love Song" and its follow up single, "Bottle It Up."
