Shinedown is an American hard rock band, formed in 2001 by original members Brent Smith, Brad Stewart, Jasin Todd and Barry Kerch. Their debut album, “Leave a Whisper,” was released in 2003, attaining platinum status in the U.S. The group also released a DVD of the final performance on the accompanying tour. Shinedown has produced two albums since, “Us and Them” in 2005 and “The Sound of Madness” in 2008, both of which were certified as gold albums. Several singles topped the U.S. charts, including “Save Me,” “Devour,” “Second Chance” and “Sound of Madness.”
Recently, Shinedown has been keeping an intense tour schedule. Their summer 2009 concert series, the much-anticipated joint tour with Staind, was immediately followed by an additional headline tour, which included 31 concerts all across the country starting in September.

Show cancellations and postponements from Jane's Addiction and Steely Dan open the daily tour recap for July 31, as compiled by TicketNews.
Alternative rock icons Jane's Addiction has cancelled its six-date tour of Australia after drummer Stephen Perkins was hospitalized in Los Angeles for an infection in his elbow. However, the band is still expected to perform on August 7 at this year's Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL. On the East Coast, Steely Dan was forced to postpone its July 29 performance of "Gaucho" at the Beacon Theatre in New York, NY. An illness nixed the show, which has since been rescheduled for August 12.
Shinedown tour brings back 'Sound of Madness' with new dates
Hard rock crew Shinedown spent much of 2008 on tour, and 2009 is starting out no differently. After completing a European jaunt on the books for January and early February, the quartet will head back to the States for a new round of dates.
The upcoming 19-date run includes stops on March 3 at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC, March 10 at Bogart's in Cincinnati, OH, and March 18 at the Bismarck Civic Center in Bismarck, ND. Presales for the U.S. tour began January 12 and require membership in the Shinedown Nation fan club.
