Steve Martin is best known as an American actor; however he is also a comedian, writer, playwright, producer, musician and composer. He has earned Emmy, Grammy and American Comedy awards. He was also honored with a Disney Legend award, for his early career at Disneyland and his connections with The Walt Disney Company throughout his career.
He has been in 51 films, his 52nd film being Cheaper by the Dozen 3 which will be released in 2011. He has out five albums, starting in 1977, his most recent, “The Crow: New Songs for the 5-String Banjo” was released in 2009.
Steve Martin tour follows 'The Crow' on the road this fall
When funnyman Steve Martin hits the road this fall, he's sure to have his fair share of witty stage banter, but his upcoming tour dates will mostly be serious business. The comedian and actor is taking the stage at theaters and performance halls across the United States to showcase his latest album of bluegrass banjo music.
The self-taught musician has filled his fall 2009 schedule with just over 20 headline concerts and special appearances as he promotes "The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo," which entered wide release on May 19.

Living music legend Bob Dylan has announced plans for a West Coast tour for the U.S., which currently has seven shows booked in four cities. Additional dates are expected for the outing, and the first public ticket sales for the already confirmed dates begin August 10.
Steve Martin to make Grand Ole Opry debut
All joking aside, Steve Martin is one talented guy. The comedian, actor, author, playwright, musician and composer is headed to country music's premier venue, Nashille's Grand Ole Opry, where he and his banjo will make their stage debut on May 30. Martin will perform songs from his first bluegrass album, the 15-song "The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo."
Martin will be joined on stage by Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Stuart Duncan, Tim O'Brien and John McEuen, a founding member of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and a producer of the album.
