Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder (real name Stevland Hardaway Morris) is an American musician who has been performing professionally since he was 11, when he signed with Motown Records. He was born blind as a consequence of premature birth, but it didn’t stop him from becoming one of the most successful solo artists in history. His first single, “Fingertips—Part 2,” was released in 1963 (when he was just 13) and immediately topped the U.S. charts. His full debut album was released later that year, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200.

Over the course of his career, Wonder has released over 20 solo albums, plus several compilation albums, and over 30 top ten hits. He has also received 25 Grammy awards, the most by any solo artist ever, including a Lifetime Achievement award presented in 1996. Wonder continues to perform around the country, most recently in the summer/fall of 2009.
