The Awesome 80s Prom is an interactive Off-Broadway production written by theatre producer Ken Davenport. Originally scheduled for a six-week block at Webster Hall in New York, NY, the show was upgraded to an open-ended run September 10, 2004, with weekly performances ever since. With a runtime of approximately 90 minutes, the show is set at the senior prom of Wanaget High's Class of 1989 as the cast vies for the coveted titles of Prom King and Queen. The show's format allows audience members to participate in the action: dancing to hit songs from the '80s, interacting with cast members, and ultimately deciding which characters are crowned the night's King and Queen.
