The Used is an alternative rock band from Utah. They rose to fame in 2002 after releasing their self-titled album. They released their fourth and most recent album “Artwork” in August 2009. In AP magazine, Bert stated “This record is about coming to grips with how much you really hate yourself and knowing you can never hate yourself to the full extent, so you’re free to hate yourself as much as you want to.” He also says “we haven’t been this excited about an album since our self titled back in 2002.”
The Used is currently touring in support of their new album. They also plan to play more dates in 2010. The band has achieved both Gold and Platinum statuses in more than six countries worldwide.

The Used, Saosin, Lit, Sugarcult, Death by Stereo, John Easdale of Dramarama, Divide the Day and Longway headline the Spare The Air Music Festival on August 30 at the Fullerton Transportation Center in Fullerton, CA.
"In 1994, we started what eventually became the largest Earth Day festival in the United States," said Sean Francis, the event’s promoter and organizer, in a statement. "With the wide range of environmental issues confronting our planet, from global warming to depleting energy sources, our focus is to promote awareness of public transportation options, global warming and alternative fuels and energies.”
The Used Drop Out of Warped Tour
Alt-rockers The Used have been forced to drop off the Vans Warped Tour because frontman Bert McCracken is undergoing vocal cord surgery.
The band was scheduled to play the first couple weeks of the trek, which kicks off Friday (6/29) in Pomona, CA.
McCracken developed a node on one of his vocal cords and doctors have recommended treatment and rest without singing for about five weeks, according to a press release. A full recovery is expected.
"[Warped founder] Kevin Lyman and the Van's Warped tour have been amazing supporters of our band and we are truly saddened that we won't be able to perform on this year's tour," guitarist Quinn Allman said in a statement.
The disappointed bandmates plan to return to the road in September for a headlining tour of the US. . .
