Daily deal site Groupon recently signed an agreement with Live Nation to sell tickets to concerts and other events. This new partnership will allow Live Nation's Ticketmaster division to move tickets using deeply discounted local deals, as Groupon does with its daily entertainment, retail and restaurant offers.
Ticket Summit 2011 two weeks away from Vegas opening
Just about two weeks remain until doors open at the Ticket Summit® conference and trade show in Las Vegas, NV. The sixth annual Vegas event is scheduled for July 13-15 at the Venetian Resort, Hotel & Casino.
Over the course of the conference's three days, Ticket Summit attendees will have their pick of more than a dozen panels and training sessions, including the much-anticipated keynote speech of Outbox Enterprises CEO Fred Rosen. Attendees can also network throughout the days, both in the exhibition hall and at the Summit's after-hours events.
Ticketing pioneer Fred Rosen to keynote 2011 Ticket Summit in Las Vegas
Fred Rosen, the former CEO of Ticketmaster and the current co-CEO of Outbox Enterprises, will give the keynote address at Ticket Summit in Las Vegas, scheduled for July 13-15 at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
The July appearance marks Rosen's second time speaking at the ticketing and live entertainment trade show and conference; he gave the keynote address in 2007, just prior to him signing on at AudienceView.
TicketNews TV spotlights Ticket Summit 2011 in New York City
This month's edition of TicketNews TV highlights the most recent Ticket Summit, where more than 500 entertainment and ticket industry professionals braved January's harsh winter weather to attend the event in New York's historic Waldorf=Astoria hotel.

Ticket Summit in New York ends a busy week with strong attendance
Although final attendance numbers were not yet available, this week's Ticket Summit in Manhattan is believed to have exceeded the 2010 edition of the trade show and conference, despite the snow storm that made travel difficult.
Held January 12 through today, January 14, the event brought together hundreds of ticketing and live entertainment professionals inside the Waldorf=Astoria for the third year, and participants were universal in their praise of the two-and-a-half-day show.
Ticketing and live entertainment professionals descend on New York for Ticket Summit
The New York edition of Ticket Summit, the leading conference and trade show for professionals in live entertainment and ticketing, is set to kick off Wednesday, January 12, at the Waldorf=Astoria in Manhattan, and organizers are expecting a record number of attendees.
Already, more than 550 people are registered for the event, which is the third annual show in New York, and even with reports of a snow storm poised to sweep through the region, enthusiasm for the show is high.
