Van Morrison

Van Morrison, short for George Ivan Morrison, is a well known singer and songwriter who started his career as a young teenager in the late 1950s. Born in Ireland on August 31, 1945, his music is classified under the blues, folk, blue-eyed sound, rock & roll and jazz genres. He is best known for his solo artist years, and his biggest hits include “Brown Eyed Girl”, “Moondance”, “Domino”, and “Wild Night”.

In 2008, Morrison launched a tour performing his first album “Astral Weeks” all around North America. This string of recent performances began in November of 2008 with him telling Rolling Stone that he is only doing these shows for live recordings and doubted that he would be doing them for much longer. Performances, however, are scheduled to go into late fall of 2009 and have been running all summer long.
