WWE and viagogo partner for upcoming European live tour

Michael Buble, WWE tickets help Madison Square Garden to remain number one venue
According to TicketNews’ exclusive venues rankings for the week ending Sunday, March 14, Madison Square Garden (MSG) has held firm to the number one title it reclaimed last week. Helping MSG’s numbers are strong sales for Michael Buble (at number three in this week’s Top Concert Events), who appears later this week, and James Taylor and Carole King (at number seven in Top Concerts), with three dates scheduled for June.
The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus comes to MSG for 24 performances this month, and the WWE tour, at number two in this week’s Top Sports Events rankings, arrives in June. MSG also is home to the NBA’s New York Knicks and the NHL’s New York Rangers. MSG power scored a 3.09 this week.

WWE storyline turns into real ticket refund for fans
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), known for its outrageous and over-the-top stunts, pulled off another one last month by integrating a real ticket refund for thousands of attendees.
The move was part of a colorful storyline involving a "feud" between Donald Trump and WWE owner Vince McMahon, which occurred when Trump announced that all fans attending the June 22 edition of "Monday Night Raw" in Green Bay, WI would get a full refund, with all the money coming from his own pocket.
WWE moves Monday Night Raw due to Nuggets post-season
A case of double-booking has displaced an upcoming World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) event from the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO. The WWE's Monday Night Raw has moved to the Staples Center in Los Angeles from the Pepsi Center in Denver on May 25. The Staples Center has also added an additional WWE Smackdown exhibition on May 26.
The Pepsi Center conflict concerned an NBA conference finals basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. Both the wrestling exhibition and the basketball game also had huge television commitments; the basketball game could not be moved to another venue but the wrestling match could.
Denver Nuggets and WWE in scheduling squabble over arena
Vince McMahon, the irascible owner of World Wrestling Entertainment, never backs down from a fight and it appears that he's immersed in a new one with the Denver Nuggets.
In a scheduling snafu, the NBA title-contending Nuggets are scheduled to play Game Four of the Western Conference Finals this coming Monday, May 25, at Denver's Pepsi Center against the Los Angeles Lakers. But, the same night the WWE is scheduled to be in the arena for its wildly popular live wrestling telecast of "WWE Raw."
Ticket broker Cary Silkin's Ring of Honor Wrestling is featured in Oscar-nominated film 'The Wrestler'
While Ring of Honor (ROH) wrestling may not be as familiar to everyone as the bigger WWE, it's Ring of Honor that has found its way into the Oscar race.
"The Wrestler," the acclaimed movie which stars Oscar nominees Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei, used ROH events to film scenes and what is seen in film is not staged in film studio, it was an actual ROH ring and fans. Ring of Honor Owner Cary Silkin told TicketNews that he was approached almost a year and a half ago by Evan Ginzberg on behalf of director Darren Aronofsky about the possibility of filming during an event.
WWE, Carrie Underwood tickets on sale
Tickets to upcoming World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) events, and tickets to several stops on country superstar Carrie Underwood’s summer tour, are on sale throughout the weekend ending June 23 as compiled by TicketNews.
Underwood, winner of Season Four of American Idol, has multiple tour dates on sale beginning Saturday morning, June 21. The onsales offerings include concerts in Boston, Detroit, and Cleveland among several others. Saturday also offers a chance to buy tickets to the summer’s joint concert tour of the Counting Crows and Maroon 5, which have tour stops in Kansas City, MO and Birmingham, AL on sale.
WWE records strong revenue growth in 1Q

STAMFORD, Conn. (World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.) May 6, 2008 - World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) today announced financial results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2008. Revenues totaled $162.6 million as compared to $107.4 million in the comparable prior year quarter. Operating income was $27.1 million as compared to $20.6 million in the prior year quarter. Net income was $19.5 million, or $0.27 per share, as compared to $15.1 million, or $0.21 per share, in the prior year quarter.
“Our first quarter results reflect the power of our premiere event, WrestleMania® XXIV. Our WrestleMania brand provides us with a unique opportunity to showcase our creative content and marketing talents across a multitude of media outlets,” stated Linda McMahon, Chief Executive Officer.
WWE Sells Out Honda Center
WWE Sells Out Honda Center/Arrowhead Pond
The sold-out non-televised RAW event this past Saturday at the Honda Center/Arrowhead Pond set a paid attendance record for WWE at this venue, beating the old record set on May 1, 1999. Additionally, this was the highest grossing non-televised WWE show ever held in the venue.
Excluding the NHL Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks, the WWE show had the largest attendance of the year thus far at Honda Center. WWE also saw another sell-out on Sunday night at The Great American Bash pay-per-view, held at the HP Pavilion, and witnessed by more than 13,800 fans. . .
