Yeah Yeah Yeahs were formed in 2000 as an indie rock trio consisting of Karen O (lead singer), Brian Chase (drummer) and Nick Zinner (guitarist). Their debut album, “Fever to Tell,” was released in 2003 and was certified as a gold record in the U.S. They released their follow-up album, “Show Your Bones,” in 2006, peaking at #11 on the Billboard 200. Most recently, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs released “It’s Blitz!” in March of 2009.
The group has toured as supporting artists with several other groups, including The White Stripes and The Strokes. Their most recent solo tour was in September 2009, covering 10 cities across the U.S. They also took the place of the Beastie Boys at Lollapalooza after the latter had to cancel tour plans due to Adam Yauch’s cancer diagnosis.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs tour charts more September dates for U.S.
Keeping true to their word, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have booked another round of U.S. tour dates for the East and West Coasts this September. The 10-city leg picks up September 6 at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, WA, and concludes September 26 at the Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs tour maps 'Blitz' across Midwest
While the East and West Coasts are the U.S. regions most heavily visited by tours, art rock trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs will show some love to the Midwest with a brief, late spring run.
The 10-city trek is bookended by festival sets, beginning May 23 at Sasquatch! in Quincy, WA, and closing out June 12 at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Other gig stops include a May 26 concert at Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL, a June 2 performance at The Pageant in St. Louis, MO, and a June 6 radio concert for Live 105 BFD in San Francisco, CA.
