TicketNews®’ exclusive event rankings remained fairly stable this week, however, there was room for a couple newcomers.

With the NFL season set to kick off tomorrow, September 5, 2012 it was to be expected that football tickets would see a boost for the week ending September 2, however it was the team that made the biggest improvement that was unexpected.

Joining the Dallas Cowboys (#9) and New York Giants (#10) on TicketNews®’ exclusive event rankings this week is the Seattle Seahawks. The team released single game tickets to the public for all eight home games last Monday, August 27, which rocketed the team on to the rankings list and all the way up to the number three position.

The Seahawks had an impressive showing this preseason with comfortable wins over the Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, and Oakland Raiders. The team will kick off regular season play, against the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday, September 9, behind rookie quaterback Russell Wilson . Coming off of a 7-9 2011 season the Seahawks have faith in their new quarterback helping them achieve a winning record. It won’t come easy with a schedule that includes Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, the San Francisco 49ers, and the 2011 AFC Champion New England Patriots. The Seahawks first regular season home game is September 16 against the Dallas Cowboys.

With the frenzy behind the start of college football the Texas Longhorns have also joined this week’s rankings list coming in at No. 18. The Longhorns kicked off their season with a 37-17 win over the Wyoming Cowboys. Up next the No. 17 ranked Longhorns will take on the New Mexico Lobos September 8, at Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. Since the sum of all events’ power scores equals 100 in any given category, an individual event’s Power Score represents its category-specific significance. Top Event Power Scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category, and not across categories.
