Rockstar Energy Drink and the world of hard rock have teamed up again for the third annual Uproar Festival. The festival will embark on a busy 30 city concert event this August — loaded with some of rock’s most popular and up-and-coming bands.

Uproar 2012, which is promoted by Live Nation Entertainment, will be in full force August 17 through September 30 featuring the ever popular rock bands of Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, Papa Roach, Adelitas Way and P.O.D. performing fan favorites on the main stage.

Top billed Shinedown, an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, are sure to promote songs off of their new album “Amaryllis” which came out at the end of March of this year. The album with its lead single “Bully” peaked at the No. 4 spot on Billboard 200.

Godsmack, the hard rock band from Boston, MA, recently released a new album on May 15 of this year titled “Live & Inspired.” The album contains 17 live recorded songs — that should hold fans over until Uproar — four of which are covers of titles that have inspired the band. “Live & Inspired” peaked at the No. 2 position on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart and is currently situated at No. 12. In an interview with Loudwire bassist Robbie Merrill expressed his excitement over the tour and getting to hit the road with friends in Staind and Shinedown.

In a press release from Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival and Live Nation tour producers John Oakes and John Reese said of this year’s lineup, “It’s incredible to have so many of the biggest band in rock together with some new bands that are blowing up.” They go on to explain that this year there will be an additional stage added to the festival area giving fans a chance to see even more rising talent before the headliners get underway.

John Reese is also co-creator of the widely popular Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Mayhem Festival offers fans a hardcore metal experience and is headlined by Slipknot, Slayer, Motorhead, and Anthrax this summer.

In 2010 John Reese and Rockstar Energy Drink aligned to develop the Uproar Festival. The first festival started on August 17, 2010, with Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Halestorm, Hellyeah, Airbourne, Hail The Villain, New Medicine. Though Uproar Festival is slightly less metal than Mayhem, the festival amplifyied fans throughout North America and received glowing reviews.

The 2011 encore invited bands Three Day Grace, Seether, Sevendust Escape The Fate, and Bullet For My Valentine to headline the nationwide road tour. Uproar 2011 was a smashing success with a total attendance of over 324,800 fans, according to Uproar and Live Nation’s press release.

Festival creators are commited to helping up-and-coming bands gain notierity and even offer a “Battle of the Bands” where applicants have a shot at the grand prize — that includes taking part in all of the tour dates for the 2013 schedule, among other prizes. Last year’s winners, Mindset Evolution, will be performing this year’s entire tour and even offered up a free download of their new single “We Are Stars” exclusively through Revolver Magazine.

Registration for the 2012 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands kicked off June 19, and is free to applicants. For more information and to sign up visit the festival’s official website.
