After slipping to the second position late October, “The Book of Mormon” is back on top of TicketNews®’ top events ranking list for the second consecutive week.

The week ending November 11, 2012 saw some highly anticipated tours surge into the top three.

Country darling Taylor Swift came in second place this week, a six position improvement from the previous week. Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran will be hitting the road for the Red tour, starting in March. The tour named after her record selling album will visit arenas and stadiums through September 2013. The Red tour is expected to be one of the most sought after tickets of 2013 as Taylor Swift continues to grow in popularity, even crossing over into mainstream pop music with lead single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Presales are underway now, with general onsales beginning November 16.

Hot on the heels of Swift and Sheeran is folk band Mumford & Sons. Their strong showing is thanks to the announcement of an East Coast mini tour this February. Fresh off the release of their No. 1 album Babel the band hit the road for a world tour. Sandwiched between their Tour of Two Halves and 2013 Europe tour, Mumford & Sons will visit TD Garden in Boston, MA February 5; Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY February 6 and 12; Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA February 13-14; and wrap things up at Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ on February 16-17. The band was originally scheduled for one show at each venues but due to ticket demands additional shows were added.

Making its debut on TicketNews®’ top events ranking list this week is World Wrestling Entertainment’s WrestleMania 29. The most electrifying event of the year for WWE fans is scheduled for April 7, 2013, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The event is expected to have some of the biggest names in the business present including The Rock, Brock Lesnar, and John Cena among others. Tickets for WrestleMania 29 went onsale to the general public Saturday, November 10.

TicketNews Exclusive Rankings and Power Scores are based on ticket sales from the TicketNetwork Exchange™. Two factors are used to calculate a power score: total ticket sales from the given event and total ticket sales within the category. Since the sum of all events’ power scores equals 100 in any given category, an individual event’s Power Score represents its category-specific significance. Top Event Power Scores should only be used to compare events within a particular category, and not across categories.
