The Dead Weather formed only a year ago, but the collaborative quartet will prove its gusto for playing together — both in the studio and live — with the upcoming release of its second album and a summer filled with headline shows.
Jack White’s latest rock conglomerate has 16 concerts planned for the United States and Canada. Besides a June 12 festival set at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN, the group has booked the majority of its itinerary from July 13 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, through August 3 at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY.
Gig stops are also lined up for July 14 at the House of Blues in Boston, MA; July 21 at the Palladium in Los Angeles, CA; and July 30 at Congress Theatre in Chicago, IL. A single Canadian performance is set for July 15 at the Sound Academy in Toronto, ON.
Public onsales start May 7 for select cities on the summer routing, with box offices in the most of the remaining markets opening over the May 8-9 weekend. According to current event listings on Ticketmaster.com, ticket face values will range from $29 to $39.
Composed of White, lead vocalist Alison Mosshart, multiinstrumentalist Dean Fertita, and bassist Jack Lawrence, the band is awaiting the release of its second album in less than a year. The upcoming effort, “Sea of Cowards,” is slated for a May 11 stateside release and follows hot on the heels of last July’s debut “Horehound.”
The Dead Weather made its full-length tour debut in summer 2009, with more than 20 concerts booked across North America in addition to some introductory concert dates overseas. The rockers returned to the U.S. tour circuit at the start of this year with a brief spring tour of the West Coast and South.
