2012 American Idol Live Tour tops events rankings this week

Making an impressive debut onto TicketNews' exclusive event rankings this week is the American Idol Live Tour, taking over the No. 1 spot after announcing the tour dates and locations just last week.

The tour features this seasons' top 10 finalists from the popular television show which has helped launched the careers of popular artists including: Fantasia Barrino, Kelly Clarkson Scotty McCreery and Adam Lambert. Although the American Idol season finale will air on Fox on May 23, the summer tour gives fans the opportunity to see their favorites perform in concert.

The Clockwork Angels tour from Rush jumps into Top Events Rankings

After tickets to their recently announced North American tour went on sale last week, rock legends Rush catapulted into the TicketNews' Top Events Rankings, finishing the week at No. 6.

The Clockwork Angels tour will be in support of the bands upcoming 20th studio album of the same name. The album will feature music from the bands first new collection of material in more than five years.

One Direction tickets nab two spots in the Top Events Rankings

Dominating the TicketNews' exclusive event rankings this week is the popular boy-band One Direction, who again grabbed the No. 1 spot due to their increasingly popular North American Tour.

The group, known to their fans now as simply 1D, released their debut single, "What Makes You Beautiful," last September and it dominated the billboard charts for months and drove records sales and eventually their ticket sales. Their 2012 summer concert tour kicks off June 13 at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and ends at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA, on August 7.

Aerosmith grabs No. 1 in Events Rankings, but One Direction still going strong

Leading the way in this week's TicketNews' exclusive event rankings is The Global Warming Tour, featuring Rock and Roll legends Aerosmith and Cheap Trick. With a renewed interest in Aerosmith's front man Steven Tyler, who appears as a judge on the popular show American Idol, the group soared past the popular British boy band One Direction, who held the top spot in last week's listings.

Madonna drops in events rankings while Broadway shows get a bump

Madonna's hot ticket sales seem to be cooling off a bit, opening the door for the top two Broadway productions to take over TicketNews' excusive events rankings for the week ending Sunday, March 18.

Holding court at No. 1 for the past five weeks, the performer was ousted this week by "The Book of Mormon", which finished at No. 1, and "Wicked", which came in at No. 2.

Concert tours from Madonna, Iron Maiden lead events rankings

Madonna's once again dominated TicketNews' exclusive events rankings for the week ending Sunday, March 1, marking four consecutive weeks at the top.

The 53-year-old mother of four is about to embark on the longest tour of her career, with 90 dates scheduled worldwide.

Madonna, Knicks tickets lead TicketNews' events rankings

Tickets for dates on Madonna's latest tour have been going on sale over the last couple weeks and in that time, the iconic singer-songwriter has become the undisputed queen of TicketNews exclusive events rankings. She dominated the ranks of top sellers on the secondary market this past week, marking two consecutive weeks at the top of the list.

Super Bowl tickets rule this week's Top Events rankings

In the lead up to this weekend's Super Bowl XLVI, tickets for the big game took over the top spot in TicketNews' exclusive events rankings for the week ending Sunday, February 5.

The championship game, which also took Lucas Oil Stadium to the top of TicketNews' venues rankings for a second week, was a rematch between the Patriots and their Super Bowl XLII foes, the New York Giants. On February 5, the Giants repeated their win of four years ago behind a catch by wide receiver Mario Manningham which set up a fourth quarter comeback for Big Blue, ending the game in a 21-17 win.

NFC Championship tickets lead the way in the Top Events rankings

The NFC Conference Championship Game between the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants edged out some top musical acts in TicketNews' exclusive events rankings for the week ending Sunday, January 22.

49ers tickets for this weekend's NFC Championship Game made it into the top ten for the second straight week, this week hitting at No. 1 on the secondary market. The Giants ultimately came on top of the game, kicking a last-second field goal in overtime.

Coldplay, NFL playoff tickets highlight Top Events rankings

Popular rockers Coldplay continued to have success in TicketNews' exclusive events rankings, finishing at No. 2 for the week ending Sunday, January 8.

The band's strong secondary sales have kept them in the top ten since mid-December, when tickets for their 2012 North American tour went on sale to the public. They will begin their tour in support of their latest album, "Mylo Xyloto," on April 17 in Edmonton, AB.
