Major fall tour plans from supergroup Them Crooked Vultures and reunited rockers The Cranberries are in the mix for the daily tour recap on September 2, as compiled by TicketNews.

First there was Chickenfoot and now another bird-named supergroup is on the music scene and stirring up a great deal of media hype. Them Crooked Vultures is the side-project of Queens of the Stone Age’s frontman Josh Homme, Nirvana and Foo Fighters musician Dave Grohl, and Led Zeppelin’s bassist John Paul Jones. The trio has announced plans for inaugural tours of the U.S. and UK, which are set to begin this fall.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Ireland-based rock group The Cranberries will reunite after almost seven years on hiatus. The alt-rock crew will cement the next chapter in its career with a North American tour, to begin this November. Meanwhile, The Who’s guitarist Pete Townshend is working on his latest rock opera, titled “Floss,” which will reportedly make its stage debut in New York sometime in 2011.
